Our Path (2025) by DI EL (b. 2002) is part of my art style, Nigredo Expressionism, which uses color in transformative ways against black grounds to let light emerge from darkness. Nigredo, from alchemy, represents the blackening stage of transformation, the raw beginning of spiritual evolution. This work explores the mystery of twin flames: the divine masculine and divine feminine, holding hands as they walk their destined journey. Each wears a crown and halo, symbols of kingship and spirituality. The male figure in blue reflects electricity and outward force, while the female in red-orange radiates magnetism and receptivity. Together they embody two halves of one soul, separated on Earth but united in purpose. Chaotic scribbles, radiant lines, and layered crowns reflect both disorder and illumination. In this piece, color becomes vibration and symbol, alive in its charge, breaking order to reveal truth.

About the Artist

DI EL (b. 2002, Rivers State, Nigeria; lives and works in Abuja) is a multidisciplinary Nigerian artist whose practice spans painting, digital art, and skate culture. Rooted in struggle and spiritual memory, he developed Nigredo Expressionism — a raw, instinctive style that embraces chaos and transformation. His work, influenced by Basquiat, SLAWN, and personal ritual, blends subconscious figures with color and texture to explore survival, spirituality, and cultural defiance.
