About the Artist

Eze Samuel Chibuikem is a visual artist based in Enugu, Nigeria, born in 2000. He studied Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he majored in painting.
His works are inspired by ideas that breathe in his mind and life experiences, exploring themes such as identity, societal struggles, beauty, and hope. His use of crosshatching in his works has been his unique style of painting which he calls crosshatchingpainting. Samuel Chibuikem has a deep obsession with the eye, to him the eye is not just an organ but an element of vision, awakening, consciousness, expression and innovation. Using acrylic, oil color and other mediums, he blends the African traditional art with western art ideology in a thought provoking manner to tell stories rooted in African experience.
Samuel's paintings have been featured in local and international group exhibitions. His passion lies in creating emotionally resonant works that speak to culture, growth, and human connection.
He continues to develop his practice while seeking opportunities to share his vision with broader audiences.
